11. Closing Thoughts

Rome
This trip has been such an amazing experience. It was incredible being able to fully immerse myself in another culture, and attempt to adopt their language and way of life. I realized how important circulation through space is, and how it can make or break one's experience. One of the main reasons I didn't like Florence as much as some of the other cities was its poor sidewalks. The streets were crammed forcing pedestrians to walk in the street where experienced, reckless drivers are. When I made it back home, I cringed a little at how boring most of the architecture is here in the U.S. I have been getting flashbacks for the most random things such as having a garbage disposal, using large washer machines, or just walking around my neighborhood. Everyday while in Italy has been memorable, from visiting monumental sites like the Colosseum, the Duomo, Venice, and the leaning tower of Pisa, to the everyday ordinary such as having breakfast as a coffee bar or walking around the city This trip has shown me that it doesn't take much to have an adventure.
