The tempietto was much smaller than I imagined. It was placed on the top of the hill dedicated to saint Peter. The surrounding building was apart of the architect's plan meant to emphasize its symmetry and simplicity. The entire tempietto could comfortably fit into a single apse of St Peters in the Vatican City.

The Pantheon was incredible. It was very strange having such a large hole in the center of the dome. I didn't reaslize the scale the building was in. Pictures do not give it justice.

The lighting and shadows the hole produces is spectacular. i wish we were able to come back at different times to experience the place in a new light.

A few days later we ventured into the Vatican muesuem. The place was absolutly massive, carring artifacts from around the world across a large timeline.

St Peters Basilica
St Peter's Cathedral blew me away. It was so grand and majectic, my words fail to describe its beauty.
The ceiling felt miles high yet there was no echo of the large crowds that were there. The view from the top of the dome overlooking Rome was more enjoyable than the Duomo, partly due to the poor whether when we went up in Florence.

The prayer room in St Peter's was so quite. The heavy curtains drowned out almost all the noise, I could believe the silence.
