The Piazza del Popole apparently has a whisper wall where you voice travels along the wall. The shape of the piazza reminded me of a roman track field. The San Maria twins looked picturesque giving a 3 point perspective siting at the center. I thought it was curious to have to nearly identical churches right next to each other almost as if they were competing.

On the second some friends and I visited Castle Gandolfo, a little town on a hill by the lake. I realized that beach areas are much different than what I was used to. There were private areas that didn't allow you to stay unless you bought a lounge chair to use. There were some free areas but those were not well kept.
The next day was the contemporary architecture day. I was not a fan of Jubilee church. It did not go with its surroundings at all. It followed form over function. The interior space had very poor acoustics, where the faintest whisper echoes throughout the entire chamber. With all the windows I imagine that its heat maintainer is very poor and expensive to keep at a pleasant temperature. It was definitely unique and can be pointed out like a sore thumb.

The Maxxi museum had an intriguing design to it. The circulation was a bit confusing to me to where I wasn't able to make it to the top floor. The actual art gallery was interesting to say the least. At first I could faintly understand the meaning of the piece. The farther we went up, the farther the meaning of the art left me. It seemed like most of the art was a form of protest. It's sad how we have moved from classical and renaissance style to potatoes and blobs of art. It seems that the idea of objective beauty has dissipated.
